Abstract
This case study explores how Montreal became the first city in the world to adhere to the National Geographic Geotourism Charter and to develop an urban geotourism Mapguide. These initiatives are linked to ecotourism, sustainable tourism and urban tourism, and are now opening the door to a new way of managing tourism in the city.
